Ok, ok! The Tokina 24mm 2.8 RMC is not a Minolta lens. I keep it here because it has a Minolta mount.
It used to be a cheaper alternative to the original Minolta 24mm 2.8, which was rather expensive.

Clicking on a crop loads the whole image in original size. A tip for Retina display users: Zoom in 1.5x or 2x. Otherwise you are not really in 1:1 mode.
Images are developed from RAW files in Ligtroom 5. All adjustments are Lightroom standard (sharpness: 25/1/25/0). |
This lens on a digital camera is bad. I don't have a Minolta 24mm to compare with. I assume the Minolta 24mm won't be that good either, but better. The Tokina is not sharp, no resolution, no details there. Additionally, stopping down increases the chromatic aberration. | Trying to improve it with software doesn't make sense till f/5.6. f/8 and f/11 are usable. The lateral chromatic aberration can be corrected in Lightroom, then you get ok-ish images. The edges never don't get really sharp. Better we don't talk about corners. Below a corrected image at f/8. I corrected the chromatic aberrations and added some sharpening. |
